If 2017 was a dreadful year for data breaches, wait until year 2018. The Information Security Forum (ISF), a body that focuses on information risk management and cyber security, predicts that there is an increase in the number of affected data breach incidents this coming year.
According to ISF, the top 5 global security threats that business will face in 2018 are: 1) Crime-as-a-service (CaaS) will expand available tools and services; 2) The Internet of things (IoT) will further add unmanaged risks; 3) The supply chain will remain the weakest link in risk management; 4) Regulation will add to the complexity of critical asset management; 5) Unmet board expectations will be exposed by major incidents.
